Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations 

 

REQUIREMENT:

Our client was hosting a public event in Windsor Great Park to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with 5,000 people expected over the 2-day event. 

This once-in-a-lifetime occasion was to mark a memorable event in history, with the purpose to unite the local people and allow the community to enjoy the celebrations together, in a safe environment.

The concept of multiple entertainment areas would cater for a wide range of demographics. 

Those who wanted to soak up every minute of the official celebrations via live streaming, and those who wanted to celebrate the occasion to live music and a festival vibe with friends were to be catered for, in an experience that would mark the special occasion.

Henley Theatre Services was asked to provide the full technical event production services for the celebrations, including:

• Fireworks to mark the beginning of the celebrations
• Live broadcast of the official celebrations on giant screens along the Long Walk
• Stage and sound for live music and entertainment. It was important that this would not compete with the live broadcast, but be enjoyed at the same time
• Full production management of the services to support the AV production including WiFi networks, power and on-site support.

Health and Safety of the public was of paramount importance, with a brief given to limit hazards across the Estate and minimise the impact of the event on the grounds themselves.

A once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, there would be no second chances to get this right.

 

The Set-Up: 

Henley Theatre services delivered a festival stage with roofing, sound and lighting to support live band performances.

4 wirelessly networked LED screens with their own sound system were installed along  1km of the Long Walk, for the public to watch the Royal Jubilee celebrations from Buckingham Palace. This required a high-speed connectivity service for uninterrupted live-streaming.

A power network was designed to support the power requirements of the stage, screens and internet connectivity solution.

Full installation, plus on-site management and support throughout the 2-day event ensured that the event would run smoothly, and any issues could be dealt with quickly.

Health and safety protocols were adhered to, with state-of-the-art technologies like wireless connectivity implemented. This would minimise the exposure to the public to potential safety hazards.
